Property overview

The Bolthole is tucked away in one of the many Yards that Kendal is renowned for, providing a unique experience of feeling as if you are staying in a rustic village whilst still having easy access to centre of town as well as being ideally placed to explore the rest of the Lake District.

There are three bedrooms – the master with King-size bed and en-suite, the second bedroom with a double bed and the third bedroom with a standard single.

There is a shared bathroom for the second and third bedrooms which includes a shower over a large bath, perfect to soak in after a day of walking the hills.

Downstairs includes a well equipped kitchen and dining area and living room with sofa, recliners and smart TV.

There are many board games for rainy afternoons and a gas fire-effect log burner to add to the homeliness of your stay. Outside is a small backyard with seating, perfect for a sunny afternoon with family or to read in peace.

Local area information

The ‘Gateway to the Lakes’, historic Kendal offers plenty for those enjoying a break in the town itself or simply wanting a base from where to explore the beautiful South Lakes.

The town is very well connected, a short drive to J36 on the M6 and serviced by Oxenholme – the Lake District mainline railway station.

Kendal’s town centre still retains many of the traditional buildings and unique ‘yards’ which, blended with independent and familiar high street retailers, combine to make a town of real charm and character.

A short walk from The Bolthole is Kendal Castle which enjoys superb views towards the Lakeland Fells to the north and Morecambe Bay to the south.

Time your visit right and you may be able to catch one of Kendal’s popular festivals such as the Kendal Mountain Festival or a live music gig, play or comedy night at the Brewery Arts Centre.
