There are two comfortable and inviting bedrooms, and two bathrooms – one with an enticing roll-top bath ready for you to soak in after a day exploring the Lakes.

There is also a utility room which houses a washing machine and dishwasher as well as storage for coats and boots.

Ambleside offers something for everyone. The town sits at the northern end of the Lake District’s largest body of water, Windermere, so if it’s water-based activities you’re after then boat trips, boat hire, paddle boarding, kayaking and more are all at your fingertips.

Adventure seekers can’t go wrong with Brockhole Tree Top Treks, Go Ape at Grizedale Forest, or the Via Ferrata at Coniston.

Those wanting to explore the Lake District on foot have chosen the right place to start with plenty of walking routes beginning from Ambleside. History buffs will love the Roman fort ruins near Borrans Park, as well as nearby Sizergh Castle, Blackwell House and Wray Castle.

And for a bit of family entertainment, there’s Zeffirellis independent cinema or the White Platts Recreation Ground.
